Finding a wonderful hotel when you’re on a journey in Pittsburgh isn’t often easy, due to the fact that there is so much choice! Obviously, you can go for something out of the same Pittsburgh travel guide that everybody and their uncle has owned for the last several years, but that doesn’t mean you’ll have a very high-quality experience (the truth is, it might just about promise a poor one!). As a substitute, it is a great idea to do a little bit of researching, with your buddy the Internet. Locals will invariably know the finest hotels in their own city, what the best accommodations are, and the ultimate months to visit their favorite parts of the city. However, you do not want to go up to anyone you happen across in the airport in Pittsburgh, requesting their help and advice. So in lieu, we’ve put together a quick list of our 3 favourite hotels in Pittsburgh for you. They are the ones we highly recommend to our friends when they return to visit – but since we do not want you to believe we’re really being biased, the following are the ratings from Yelp.com:

1. Fairmont Pittsburgh
510 Market St
Pittsburgh, PA 15222

Service is superb. Rooms were immaculate! Very close (like a minute walk to Market Square) to food, fun, and coffee (Chipotle, a Primanti Bros, a Starbucks, and a Dunkin’ Donuts).
Only downside – parking. Not going to find any self parking during the day – drove through the parking garage below the hotel and was confronted with double parked cars galore. Good thing for valet service.

This was an excellent experience. The place is historic and elegant. Our room was very nice, clean, updated and had all the nice extra’s like robes and an flatscreen.
What I really like was how we were treated. We did a priceline (on a whim) and the staff treated us like any other full paying customer. I have been to places where that is not the case..
Good Job all the way around Omni William Penn Hotel and Staff..

3. Renaissance Pittsburgh Hotel
107 6th St
Pittsburgh, PA 15222

Renaissance went the extra mile, providing exceptional customer service, large clean room, convenient downtown location, and the greatest appearance for the lobby of a hotel I had ever stayed in (exquisite rugs, glass ceiling, and mansion-like staircase). It was a wonderful experience and I would stay here again in a heartbeat. The bacon smell permeating the elevators during brunch was very alluring, and breakfast buffet service was great, including an omelet station, bacon and eggs, baby pancakes, fresh fruit and yogurt. The in room internet via plug and free wireless was faster and more reliable than I’ve gotten anywhere.
